Synopsis on Goodreads
A near-future thriller that fans of the GONE series and Doctor Who will love

Clair is pretty sure the offer in the ‘Improvement’ meme is just another viral spam, though Libby is determined to give it a try. But what starts as Libby’s dream turns into Clair’s nightmare when her friend vanishes. In her search for answers, Clair seeks out Jesse – a boy whose alternative lifestyle might help to uncover the truth. What they don’t anticipate is intervention from the mysterious contact known only as Q, and being caught up in a conspiracy that will change everything.

~

I picked up books 1 and 2 from my local library out of a limb and i was not disappointed. The plot for this series kept me hooked throughout. What’s not to love in a book about a system that can dupe you a thousand times just by changing your biological pattern, taking you out of your own and slotting someone else inside? It’s basically what i would imagine a Doctor Who episode to feature.

The main character Clair has a thing for Zep, who happens to be her best friends boyfriend, but what happens later on when she begins to realise that she likes Jesse? Nothing, literally no love triangle which is exactly why i love this book. I can’t stand love triangles, it’s why it pained me to read the Twilight series. There wasn’t a lot of romance featured in this book, which meant that you could focus on the action rather than ‘Are clair and Zep ever going to hook up in the next chapter?’

Twinmaker had it all: Hunts across the planet – because that’s possible when you have a booth like d-mat which can port you to anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye / technology which we could only ever dream of experiencing / betrayals from characters you thought were good and going all out against the main villians.

I may be nearing 21 but i can still enjoy a fantastic teen/young adult series when i find one! 🙂
